You may not get it right for the first time but you can always keep trying for it. 

A wonderful meaning of the quote very well relates to Shreya Singla, A Bhatinda girl who makes us proud by winning gold in Badminton at 24th Deaflympics in Brazil.

With this win, she became the first girl from the state to achieve the monument feat.

The medal came in a team event, after defeating Japan in the finals. Her matches were held from May 2 to May 4 and she won the finals against Japan.

In 2019, Shreya represented India at the 2nd World Deaf Youth Badminton Championship held in Taiwan and won a silver medal in the girl’s double event.

Her journey:

The journey of 17 year old is full of inspiration. Her father said, “This all is hard work of Shreya. We got to know that she was deaf and she could nor speak when she was four but it was too late. We eventually got a hearing aid installed in her ears and after that, she learnt to speak”.

She chooses in her life not to give up! And always keeping hopes alive.

The lifelong lesson learnt from her journey :

Because of hopes we keep pushing and fighting for the things we care about.

You may not win all your tournaments, your boss may not approve your business trip, you may not be able to follow your dreams. Whatever the disappointment is, you must remain hopeful! 

While speaking to ANI, Shreya said, 

“ It was my first Deaflympics. I worked so hard and faced a lot of difficulties, but my parents supported me. I would like to thank my coach too. I want to win an individual medal at Deaflympics and one at the upcoming Asian Games too.”

She urged the physically challenged athletes to keep their disabilities aside and focus on their sport, practice and believe in themselves.
